In Support of Whole Foods...

While watching the Asian adjacent(as Chelsea Handler would dub her due to her HORRIBLE plastic surgery) Greta Van Sustern last night I became interested in a story involving Whole Foods CEO John Mackey. It seems because he cares enough to voice his opinion on Obama's Health Care Reform ideas, and those opinions are not shared by the "left",that a boycott is ensuing. Liberals everywhere are on a manhunt to put him out of business. You can become a fan of this on Facebook(along with 18,000 others who apparently now oppose free speech). John Mackey has been paid $1/year since 2007 and all the proceeds from his stock options are donated to charity. What a sleaze ball, right? He didn't just complain about health care reform options under Obama, he offered up an 8 step solution of his own, and was then completely thrown under the bus because his ideas differed from the liberal agenda. No matter what your political views, I think we can all agree that in really simple terms he was ultimately stripped of his constitutional right of free speech. I have many different opinions, but I don't try and put someone out of business the minute I disagree with him or her over something. Whole Foods employees 50,000 people. Great idea, put 50,000 more people out of work because a leader(whom his employees apparenty adore) actually voices his opinions. Opinions that included the fact that maybe health care reform wouldn't be such a tough thing to tackle if Americans exercised more and smoked less. (what a lunatic, right?) Dr. Oz said the same thing on Oprah yesterday and I don't see him being villified this way (don't worry Dr. Oz, you could never disappoint me). No one is trying to put McDonald's or Taco Bell out of business(probably because their administrators keep their mouths shut) and they are a much bigger part of this problem than Whole Foods. At least there you know that all you have to do is walk through the door to be presented with healthy options rather than on fast food menus where you have to search for the same options. Whole Foods (and John Mackey) you have (and have had for some time now) my undying support!! People care more about the bigger issue of being burned at the stake for opening your mouth than the underlying undecipherable issue of health care right now anyway, this could actually work in your favor! Now back to the real issue of Ms. Van Sustern's plastic surgery, do you and Lisa Rinna share the same doctor?

  1. What a shame. People are so consumed with partisan agendas that they are failing to see the big picture.

Is there a facebook group supporting him?
