The incredible gift of making sure that at least part of every day for him lights up like the candles on his cake did a few weeks ago. Take a walk when its close to bed time. Cover your pantry door with artwork. Jump in a pile of leaves together. Help him make his bed. Watch him skateboard down the driveway for the 1,000 time in an afternoon masking your concern with praise. Let him pick the movie. Make cookies for after school. When he gets off the bus act like you haven't seen him in 7 days, not 7 hours. Let him get the 4th star on Just Dance. It's powerful stuff, I promise.

Great suggestions and I'm a bit proud of myself that my family and I try to do this as much as possible with our two kids. It makes a world of difference in their self-esteem. Family time is golden.
