How I Know...

that I'm not TOTALLY failing as a Mom:

We haven't started eating this yet(not even the organic version):
Nobody has contracted this, and apparently it is RAMPANT:
I haven't caught him leaning out his bedroom window doing this:
I am worried about being a good mom, and apparently that is the biggest part of "being a good mom"...and I just read that here:
this idea just leapt off the page to me last night as I was reading this book. All joking aside(don't worry, just for a second), but isn't this the pure and raw motivation to BE a good parent? Worrying about whether you are or not? So simple, I think we all do it without even realizing it. "You know what makes a good mom, worrying about being a good mom" I think that is the exact line from the book. Makes sense, right? So I guess as long as I worry and lay off of the canned PB&J, these kids will turn out all right! Seems easy enough :)

  1. What a true statement! The fact that we do worry shows we love our children and that's more than a lot of kids can say. As long as our children know they are loved and cared for, what more could we really hope for?!

  2. Okay, how sad is this...I wanted to read that book, but obviously am a little busy with a new baby these days...I read the first and last chapters and honestly felt like those two pretty much summed it up. I love her books!

  5. I think she nailed it with that statement - you are a good mom because you care about being a good mom and worry about doing things right.

And PB&J in a can is the worst invention I have ever heard of. The sugar content must be through the roof.
