Remember carrying a purse? Small children around your house, then probably not. Below are the 2 accessories that have gotten me through thinking that it's okay to not carry a purse with a child in my possession. The purses that I own that are large enough to remember spare socks for Romp n roll, shin guards and socks for soccer, extra snacks, wipes( yes, my son is 4 and if I could fit a garden hose in there I would, no judgement please) and then MY stuff that normally goes in a handbag are far too nice to be home to any of the aforementionted items. The city tote(1st pic) is so great because it CANNOT be destroyed. Everything wipes off of it..slap a big old monogram on it and you're good to go. Next in line is the market basket. I keep this in the car and when we get out I put everything my son brought to the car in it(probably the only way we have all the pieces to his legos in tact) then when its time to go back out again I put everything that leaves the house (dry cleaning, reusable grocery bags, more toys, etc) in it and start the fun cycle all over again. The basket is also perfect for toting dinner somewhere. It will hold a casserole dish, wine, and dessert perfectly (and adorably, and isn't that what we are going for here?) I take it to the pool in the summer and receive TONS of compliments whenever someone sees it. I have given it as a gift monogrammed and filled with my favorite baby products, for birthdays, the list goes on and on. If you aren't able to really use a handbag ALL the time these are great, stylish, and affordable options. I know they are available at Sur La Table and probably at most embroidery boutiques, and sadly (or is it just really a testament to a great product?) nobody is paying me to say this :(
I keep a market tote in my car too - my son's stuff seems to multiply while we drive!

ReplyDeletei have a huge Vera Bradley that was given to me as a gift and that is my work horse for this family! Wouldn't it be great to be able to carry around a hose to spray those messy little tornadoes down? I kid, I kid. every mom needs the industrious, do all bag!

ReplyDeleteI have the market tote in that exact same print and love it!!! I usually keep mine in my front hall to catch things that need to be put away else where and empty it out every few days. Great idea about keeping it in the car. I think mine came from SurLaTable as well!
