I know I'm jumping the gun a little bit, but seriously, stuff like this keeps me awake at night. Baby boy has a birthday not long after preschool begins. At this age, we are knee deep in playdates and his social life is taking over our own sometimes. Herein lies the age old dilemma, who to invite to your 4 year old's birthday party? Do I invite the whole class? Do I just invite his actual friends(I've gone that route in the past and didn't encounter the other end of this of having to actually attend a virtual stranger's party until last spring). We've booked our local children's museum, so I don't have to worry about all those extra kids destroying our house, but I think its also a tad early to be setting this precedent. Help!
I would just invite his friends. It can get rather expensive inviting the whole class.
ReplyDeleteI only invited my son's friends in preschool. I honestly get tired of getting invites from kids and school and being like "who is this again".
ReplyDeleteWe did not have "friend" birthday parties until my boys were in 1st grade. It worked out perfectly because one is an Oct birthday and one is Sept so that way they know who their friends are they want to invite (Kindergarten it would have been too early for that).
ReplyDeleteMy boys get a friend party every other year. We do a family party every year and there are 14 total on my side so there is always a nice celebration.
